Spring mood

My dreams have come true. It is spring in February! This is something extraordinary and has never happened before. So a really big change compared to some weeks ago when I wrote this blog post. So no snow anymore and the birds are singing. No one could be happier than me. You could mildly say that I dislike winter and freezing. I celebrate this with a new spring mood board. In black!

I really want that leaf decoration...

Magazine cutting

As a change I just had to publish this magazine cutting. I run into it yesterday and often it is not the best and perfectly styled pictures that inspire me most, but the ones picked from real homes as they are mostly so genuine and reflect a personal style. I wish I had the real photos, but I hope you see something interesting anyway. This is the home of Marianne Kruse, founder and owner of the webshop Henny and My.

I myself like the variety of pictures on the shelf in good company with the black Gubi lamp. The Tom Dixon Etch lamps over the dining table and in the sofa corner have also found their perfect places. These Gubi and Dixon lamps have never really crossed my mind, but here they somehow look so right that they for the very first time speak to my heart and I see their design in a new light. Cool. I often have to see something many times before I suddenly get it.

The A and Tivoli poster, black and white cushion and the hooks on the wall also look nice. I could think of having dark or light wooden hooks for my handbags, too.

Light and lovely kitchen

Today's beautiful kitchen inspiration was found via Riazzoli.
I like the group of lamps, golden details and shiny marble surface.
Looks like that this sink unit can never be messy.
Nice isn't it?

Happy Valentine's day

This owl from Architectmade is my new favourite.
The owl's head is attached with a magnet to the body so you can move it around
to show different moods. Just like the other birds that can look up or down
if they are sad or happy.

With these cute birds and wisdom about friends
I wish you a Happy Valentine's day tomorrow!
I am so glad for all of you that keeps coming back!
Take care!

Kubus love

I like my Kubus candleholders in black and white so much. The design really lifts up the whole room and atmosphere around. Lately I have fallen for the Kubus bowl, too. Such a cute lite bowl for fruit, vegetables, nuts or sweets! Or why not as a flower pot? Today I spotted the lovley newcomer. In copper! Cannot get enough of these. Also the black and white ones are awesome!

Poul Henningsen 120 years

Poul Henningsen would have turned 120 years in September this year. To celebrate this, his long-term partner Louis Poulsen relaunches a limited edition of one of the first models of the PH lamp.

On the Boligblog I found out the funny story behind this lamp.
Poul Henningsen tells about the design and creation of the lamp as follows (translation my own):

You take a flat plate, a bowl and a cup - and voilà! You have a lamp!

Genius. It is the simple design that remains classic.

Should we try to have a look among the dishes, too?

Enjoy the beautiful press images from Louis Poulsen.
The copper and glass pendant is only available until 31st May 2014.
So hurry up if you want to invest in a piece!

Danish treasure

Oh! It has been a while since a home inspired me this much. I think it is unique.
Absolutely my taste. So much small details to look at.
I like when it is like this. When you come home to someone and it takes time to
look around and be amazed about all small things.

What I like most?
First of all the lovely Danish teak chairs in the perfect brown nuance.
The mixed collection around the table with brown and black chairs of different shape.
The black Tom Dixon lamps.
The shelves with all kinds of small birds and colourful spines.
The cosy collection of vases. Danish, of course.
The great variety of wall art.
And do you see the black lamp with holes in it?
I would like to call and ask them, what in the world is this? It looks so nice!
I also like the magnetic, black, tidy noticeboard from the Oak Men
with all kinds of interesting cards.
The plant. How cool.
Even the cake is artistic with figs and pomegranates.

A perfect syled home. Real aesthetes.
Or I think it is not styled. It is done with the heart.
Here live Anders Norup, jewellery designer for Handcraftedcph, and Nina Lund.

All this I found via the lovely blog Boligcious and their recently published online magazine Boligcious Lookbook. Created by talented Malene and her staff.
Take a look here and get inspired you, too! I will be on the lookout for their next issue!

All pictures published with permission from Boligcious.
Thanks a lot!

Saturday mood

I was really hooked on photographing today and perhaps this will be my new melody, because I really would like to share more own material on the blog. Sometimes I am a bit too critical, but perhaps I need to let go of that. Here is a modest sneak peek. Wish you a cosy Satuday! It is warmer here and soft snowflakes are falling outside the window. So much better than the last weeks with -20 °C. Life returns!
